Domesticate Me

Tuesday, April 14, 2015

I never thought this day would ever come but it has finally arrived.....

I am legit excited over my new laundry hanger and HappyCall pan hahaha! I mean, look at these beauties!!!!!!!!!!

Who cares how I got from being the most undomesticated loser ever to someone who fangirls over laundry pegs and cooking pans..........................

The bloggirls came over to my place with their husbands and babies (some with their baby in tummy) last weekend and it was sooooo fun having all the girls over, sharing stories and getting to bully so many babies!!! The girls were also the ones who gifted me with the above beauties as birthday/housewarming gifts, despite me threatening to throw their babies/future babies into the oven and bakar them into satay hahahahaha. Susah datang dapat these kind of gracious friends! Lucky for me I found them on the internet HAHA.

October 2014 Weddings

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

Better get cracking on my October 2014 wedding invitations post before the November ones start streaming in!

11th October 2014 was reserved for Ili's wedding, of course, and she is none other than the blogger behind Eleventh October, and also one of the bloggers I've had the privilege of knowing and befriending during my Kahwin Khronicles journey! Her wedding was mostly DIY and so lovely!!! She and her husband really got so much patience and creativity lah, I really tabik! If you nak see more of her wedding while waiting for her blog posts, you can check out her official wedding Instagram here

Oh, and as you can see, I kamchengho with the other bloggirls to meet at her wedding to makan and take pictures sama sama! So much love for these girls even though kita asalnya jumpa kat internet hehe. I know mak bapak always say jangan kawan sembarang sembarang kat internet but that pesanan tak pakai k, if they make nice and funny friends like these girls! (FYI: My bridesmaids were also my Internet friendz)

We had another wedding invitation on the 18th October 2014 but I didn't take pictures because I didn't know anyone there (Saliheen's relative punya jemputan) so malulah konon.

Lepas tu, the next weekend baru the highly anticipated 25th October 2014 came along so Saliheen and I geared up for a super long and tiring day!!! Kenapa anticipated??? Sebab itu lah hari yang kita ada four wedding invitations, beb. Orang lain go for movie marathon, kita go for wedding marathon, beb.

Here is a gambar of the invitation cards sebagai evidence!!!!!

First up was Shahirah of My Wed Dreams punya wedding! Hers was the easiest because she lives one street away from me hehehe. Selamat pengantin baru, babe! Sorry I is very macam penyamun, secret secret ambik gambar dari tepi.

Next up was my primary school girlfriend Dian, who held her wedding at Singapore Silat Federation, which was where Saliheen and I held our wedding one year ago. She even engaged the same caterers as us, which was the awesome Puteri Wedding Services YUM YUM.

After that, we drove all the way to Bukit Timah CC...

... to attend the most gorgeous wedding I've been invited to in 2014!!! Ahhhhh, everything looked so dreamy! I've always known that Nina has impeccable taste so I didn't doubt that her wedding was going to be one of my favourites.

With the talented Elly Weddings as her decor, Ishq By Nora Zee for her make-up and sanding outfit, a gorgeous Nurita Harith piece, and the established Haji Abu as her caterers, it's no wonder her wedding was an absolutely beautiful success. Can't wait till she's back from her honeymoon so we can talk about her wedding in detail!

I still kick myself for not being able to be there at her nikah (because the timing clashed with the two previous weddings I had to attend in the East) but it was great to see her and her Baobei beaming endlessly with love and pride on her gorgeous pelamin, and to be able to catch up with some of our closest friends and their babies. Oooh, and with my favourite MUA of all times too, of course! Love you to bits, Kak Nora!

Anyway, if you can't get enough from Nina's wedding's Instagram hashtag #sayangbaobei, she also blogs here

We took a breather at my in-law's place for a quick half an hour shower and change of clothes then made our way down to Japanese Garden Rest House for the last wedding of the day.

Nice intimate wedding dinner at an outdoor park hosted by Saliheen's friend from CJC. Pretty reception but the jalan masuk was suuuuuper lengit. I came mentally prepared because I've been to one other wedding here before but Saliheen and another couple we went with couldn't believe how much we had to walk and kena naik bukit segala lolz. Macam mana lah nak jadi juara panjat bukit gini.

Anyway, on our way back home on that day, Saliheen and I couldn't help but marvel in disbelief at how we spent 10 freaking hours just attending weddings hahahahaha. HARDCORE SIOL!

As for the month of November, we already have four wedding invitations but thankfully they're not all in the same day eh. Kalau semua sama hari, memang aku macam nak throw in the towel and seal up aku punya mailbox dengan cement.

5 girls, 10 hours and a whole lot of makan

Monday, June 9, 2014

Those who read Rina would've known I went on a KL daytrip with the bloggirls! ♥

(The term 'bloggirls' was coined by E by the way, and since I like it very much I shall use it with reckless abandon in this entry and subsequent mentions of this gerek group of gerek girls whom I've befriended online. Jangan marah hah!)

The makan itinerary is more or less the same as when I went on my previous KL makan trip because these anak anak wanted to try out the makan places that I went to previously! Maka terpaksalah akak jadi tour guide yang tidak bertauliah pada bulan April yang lalu.

Akak juga terpaksa jadi blogger yang tidak bertauliah for now sebab akak malas nak upload gambar sendiri and have reproduced pictures which were taken by Ili and editted by Rina below HAHA:

Journal By Plan B

We shared the french toast and one of the main breakfasts that came with sausages, poached eggs and beans, etc. The rest of the girls seriously takde ciri ciri hipster because semua tak makan mushrooms, tak makan tomatoes AND TAK MAKAN AVOCADO. Ni semua makanan staple kat hipster cafe k!!!!! Lagi lagi kalau tak makan asparagus. Lagi tak hipster.

Anyway, the main breakfast was a-okay, but I most definitely prefer the french toast set moarrrrrrr! 'Atas' roti drenched in 'atas' maple syrup. ATAS YUM.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese Restaurant

WAGYU BEEF IS. SO. FREAKING. DIVINE.

THAT IS ALL.

Shucked Oyster & Seafood Bar

MY NEW FAVOURITE MAKAN PLACE IN KL EVAAARRRRR!!!

Even though masa nak cari ini tempat boleh muntah kedarah siak kitaorang. Directory takleh pakai, one!!!!! If you're planning to go, don't percaya the directory and just head straight to the supermarket in Publika okay!!! Basement level, I think.

Anyway, I am a huuuuugggeeeee sucker for oysters and I am also a disgusting person who can eat 30 odd oysters in one sitting, you know!!!!! Which is why I have no idea why the bloggirls were so fussed over me eating 21 oysters sendiri. Like, geez, gaize, have you seen me at Carousel's oyster section????? Gua dengan itu oyster section macam isi dan kuku k.

Well, now that I've gotten the amazing dining experience at Shucked, I really can't escape it already lah - there is NO way I can ever singgah KL again without having my oysters at Shucked!!!!! SO LEMAK SO SEDAP AND SO PUAKA, AND I REGRET *NOTHING*

Ben's

I've been to Ben's before when I was in KL for my bachelorette party, and the food choices were 'hit and miss' ah, so kena tau which dishes to order! But since we were still stuffed from Gyukaku and Shucked, the bloggirls settled for desserts aje at Ben's.

Mad craving for their chocolate torte with milk so that was one of the recommendations I gave the group. Fuhyooooo, terbang terjun terhantuk benjol, geng.

Tony Roma's

Made our way to Tony Roma's and met E who was waiting for us kat luar kedai! (We actually asked E along for the day trip but kebetulan dia memang in KL for that weekend so ape lagi)

Can't go wrong with Tony Roma's, the ribs and sides were greattttt, and I just had to tapao a box of the yummy cheesy potato skins home!!! FYI besides sotong and oysters, I am also a certified hantu kentang. Sampai kulit kentang pun nak makan haha.

Ili also tapao a box of barbequed ribs home and hit a minor snag when we were clearing immigration, you can read about her kentalan buah lychee situation here HAHAHA SOMPAH COMMENT AKU ADALAH SECARA TIDAK SENGAJA

Yay! Time to balek with our berat tummies!

Well, technically Rina punya tummy memang dah naturally berat ah, since dia tengah angkat anak 30 weeks when we went KL. Mau berani je ini mak budak! Thought we'd have to fuss and wait on her but in the end she was the one who jalan laju ahead of us. Tak tau nak kejar ape entah jalan laju laju gitu. Kejar anak lembu agaknye. TO BUAT WAGYU.

Was so bummed Dyan couldn't join us at the last minute, but we made up for it with seafood dinner at Newton a week ago :D With E too, because kita rasa bersalah for rushing off after Tony Roma's! Roads in KL were closed for president Obama's arrival, you see, so the cabdriver yang kita book made us all leave earlier than we wanted to just to beat the traffic jam. Eh eh, biaaaaasa eh Bama! Itu hari kita turun KL, itu hari jugak dia nak turun KL. Nyampah.

You know, I find it interesting that half of my groups of friends now are made of total (ex)strangers I've made friends with online! Even my friendships with my bridesmaids started out on social media.

I guess I can't meet new people now that I'm in the workforce (because I can't exactly be friendly with people, with the job that I have now) and the good old internet is the only way I can interact with fresh faces and then follow up with those I can really click with in real life.

And by "those I can click with in real life", I really mean people who are gila enough to ajak aku makan kat 5 different tempat in 10 hours HAHA BUANG TEBIAT
